Visual perception beholding
hues of orange, yellow, and red
glow engulfing this
expanse is opaque, taking
in what can’t be said.

The aroma of foliage
tall textured maple, oak
a wave, thickness of
orange, yellow, and red
afterglow of immersive light.

Dishonorable barrier in the
middle of tall row houses
a black decay of iron rods
and incarnate souls who lay
marble chunk and etched words.

A place faintly remembered
a vague retention of mortal
souls who slowly fade asleep
as the timekeeper rings
a body, a smile, a love is forgone.
