“Even If” Day 1

To start off with this series, I was contemplating so many things going through my mind. God laid the words “Even If” on my heart months ago and yet I was seeking what He wanted me to do with those words. I prayed and questioned, “okay Lord.. I have the words.. now what?” Weeks later, He revealed to me that I need to focus my writing and blog on those words to reach others who are hurting, broken, confused, left out, burdened, lonely etc. I am not a perfect writer, yes I do still make grammatical errors (no perfection here!), but I know this is what He has called me to do. So, let’s get started…

What do the words “Even If” mean? Well according to Websters dictionary the words “Even If” mean:

—used to stress that something will happen despite something else that might prevent it.

Did you read that slowly? If not read it again. It means that something is GOING to happen regardless of circumstances that might try to keep it from happening. God wants us to say “Even If Lord”, we will trust you, we will serve you, we will keep going regardless of the circumstances we face, we will have the faith of a mustard seed despite things not going our way. If we don’t get the answers we expect we will TRUST that you know best.

Is that hard? Of course it is! God never promised us life would be easy. Actually, it says that we will face many difficulties because of Him (John 15:18-20)

18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

That seems like a downer doesn’t it? Our human nature doesn’t want us to go through trials. Why would we want to willingly be persecuted or hated? But here is where God comes in. God sent his one and only son Jesus to pacify Gods wrath against us ( Romans 3:24-25)

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins.

(John 3:16-18)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Yes, God did indeed send his only son Jesus to die for you and me. Without the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, we are automatically condemned to hell once we die. There is NO take backs or do overs when you take your final breath and leave this world. If you DON’T accept the free gift (yes, no strings attached!) of salvation by believing that Jesus died for you and your sins, unfortunately when you close your eyes and take your last breath you will be separated from God and Jesus forever. Hell, which means a place of torment and misery that NEVER ends. You cannot leave for any reason (unfortunately this is true!) and you will experience everything that God is not.

What is God you ask? God is love, peace, joy, kindness, merciful, gracious, happiness etc.. ALL good things! So if you wake up in hell, you will experience the very OPPOSITE of God (scary to think about being tormented and tortured forever with no end to it!)

BUT WAIT! There is HOPE! Jesus died for your sins! He came down from the glories of Heaven to die for you, so you could be adopted into God’s family (so basically you are a prince or princess of Heaven and the God of the universe is your father! How amazing is that?!)

Anyway, back to those words “Even If”. We will face so many trials to be part of Gods family because God is not the ruler of this world. The devil is. (John 12:31)

31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

So, Even If life doesn’t go our way or plans change, we still need to trust God that he knows what he is doing. After all, He created us and sent His Son to die for us. His way is always perfect regardless of what we “might think” is best for us. I hope you are encouraged knowing that God loves you regardless of what you might be facing today and His will is perfect! ❤️
